Spring Aware interface in-depth analysis
The standout feature of Spring's dependency injection is that beans are generally unaware of the existence of the Spring container. Even if we replace the container with another implementation, such as Google Guice, the coupling between beans remains low. However, in practical projects, it is inevitable to utilize specific resources provided by the Spring container itself. In such cases, a bean must be aware of the presence of the Spring container to access these services; this concept is referred to as "Spring Aware." Originally designed for internal use within the Spring framework, implementing an Aware interface introduces coupling between beans and the Spring framework.
Provided Awareness Interfaces by Spring
The awareness interfaces provided by Spring are listed in the table below:
| Interface | Description |
|---|---|
| BeanNameAware | Allows obtaining the name of a bean within the container. |
| BeanFactoryAware | Provides access to the current Bean Factory, enabling calls to factory-level services. |
| ApplicationContextAware | Provides access to the current Application Context, allowing invocation of context-specific services. |
| MessageSourceAware | Allows obtaining the MessageSource resource for retrieving text messages and properties. |
| ApplicationEventPublisherAware | Grants access to the application event publisher, enabling bean instances to publish events. |
| ResourceLoaderAware | Provides access to a ResourceLoader, facilitating loading of external resources such as configuration files or static content. |
