Redis Pipeline

Pipeline is a client-side optimization technique in Redis that allows sending multiple commands to the Redis server in a single batch and receiving all responses at once.

Before using Pipeline, a client must send one command and wait for the response from the Redis server before sending the next command. During this process, the time the client spends waiting for the server's response becomes one of the bottlenecks to client performance. By utilizing Pipeline technology, clients can send multiple commands to the Redis server in a single batch and receive all responses at once. This reduces the number of network communications between the client and the server, thereby improving client performance.

When using Pipeline technology, the client must first call the MULTI command before sending commands to indicate the start of a transaction. The client can then send multiple commands together to the Redis server, which are executed all at once via the EXEC command. During execution, Redis caches the results of all commands and returns them to the client in a single batch.

It is important to note that when using Pipeline technology, Redis does not guarantee that each command will be executed immediately, as the Redis server may process commands sent by other clients during execution. Therefore, when using Pipeline technology, the client must ensure the dependency relationships and execution order between each command on its own.
