Java Exception Handling Mechanism

The exception handling mechanism in Java primarily includes:

  1. try-catch statement blocks: The try-catch statement block is used to catch exceptions and process them. Code within the try block may throw an exception; if an exception is thrown, it will be caught and handled in the catch block.
  2. throw statement: The throw statement can be used to manually throw an exception, allowing an exception to be actively raised within a program.
  3. throws clause: The throws clause is used to declare the types of exceptions that a method may throw. If an exception is thrown inside the method, it will be passed to the caller for processing.

When handling exceptions, it is generally necessary to catch and process them based on their type. Multiple catch blocks can be used to catch different types of exceptions, or a single catch block can be used to catch multiple types of exceptions. After handling an exception, the finally block can be used to execute code that must run regardless of whether an exception occurred, such as closing resources.
