DOM In Document Node Operation

In the Document Object Model (DOM), the Document node represents the entire HTML or XML document. In web applications, the Document node is typically used to manipulate the content of a web page, such as creating and modifying elements, adding and removing elements, and changing element attributes.

The Document node serves as the root of the DOM tree and contains the entire content of the document, including the HTML root node, head node, body node, and so on. In JavaScript, the Document node can be accessed via the document object. For example, you can use the document.createElement() method to create an element node, the document.createTextNode() method to create a text node, and the document.getElementById() method to retrieve an element node with a specific ID.

The Document node also provides several common properties and methods, such as:

  • document.title: Used to get or set the title of the document.
  • document.URL: Used to get the URL of the document.
  • document.documentElement: Used to get the HTML root node.
  • document.body: Used to get the body node of the document.
  • document.createElement(tagName): Used to create an element node with a specified tag name.
  • document.createTextNode(text): Used to create a text node.
  • document.getElementById(id): Used to retrieve an element node with a specific ID.

Through the Document node, web pages can be manipulated flexibly, thereby achieving dynamic behavior and interactivity.
